Imagine being a single mother of three. You're unemployed and your job search for the past six months has been unsuccessful. You're anxious about all of the things that come along with providing for your family.

Then, you come across an organization that offers help – you enroll in their Customer Services and Sales Training program and later earn a national certification. The staff help you obtain a part-time position at Home Depot, and although it's not exactly what you want, you're relieved – you're back in the job market, you're earning your own money, and things are improving. You continue working with the staff, and less than six months after you enroll in their program, you land a job with Henderson Behavior Health as a Human Resources generalist. Your new full-time position offers you an annual salary of $32,000 and benefits. But what you have really gained is confidence, independence, and dignity.

Victoria H. didn't have to imagine this scenario, she lived it. With the help of Hispanic Unity of Florida, Inc. (HUF), Victoria received training, a national certification, job placement services and employment opportunities. You can help many more adults gain confidence, independence and dignity by making a gift to HUF today!

I volunteer with a nonprofit organization committed to helping people achieve theirAmerican dream. One of the areas we are committed to is helping people live with respect and dignity.

Despite their hard work, 47% of Broward's adults struggle to pay for the basic necessities of life, such as housing, food and transportation. We often take this for granted, but I see this as an opportunity to help.

That's why I created a fundraiser to support Hispanic Unity of Florida, Inc. (HUF) in honor of their 35th anniversary. What's more, because of the generosity of the Kenny & Sandy Tate Family Fund and the Community Foundation of Broward, we will receive a 2-to-1 match for each dollar raised, up to $35,000.

Proceeds will benefit the Bridges Program which provides workforce training for the 21st century.

In one year, we can help 100 participants receive workforce training & job placement in industries with employment and growth opportunities. We will help clients acquire better employment beyond low wage, entry level jobs—and you can be a part of it.
